So Close and Yet So Far...

Today marks 38 weeks and 4 days along for me. Baby girl could be born any day now. Now that the house is set up to functionality she can come any time-- and I wish she would. Sooner, rather than later. After almost a weeks worth of having Braxton-Hicks off and on I thought I'd be dilated more than I was at my doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I was still dilated to 1 cm (which is what I was at the week before). It feels like every moment is an eternity waiting for things to happen. I guess that's how it is when you're this far along.
Because I have had some high blood pressure (but not high enough to justify inducing me as of yet), my doctor has determined that if I haven't delivered by the time I see her this week we will set up an appointment to induce me. We're hoping to set that date for the 7th. I hope she comes sooner because I'm just biding my time ('cause that's the kinda guy I'm) right now. One week has never seemed so long.

Starting up again-- maybe

Worked on a painting for the first time in a long time as a gift for my cousin's wedding. I don't want to brag, but I think it turned out really well.

The Canyon After a Snow

Some pics of beautiful Ogden Canyon after a good snowfall.

Showering the Baby

Had a fun shower in Goonah with my friends in S. Utah. Got lots of fun things. We definitely got showered with lots of love and wonderful gifts. This girl won't have any shortage of cute things.

The elephant towel my friend made us :)

Moving!

After almost 2 years in our wonderful house, our landlady decided in January that she needed to downsize (since her husband died last year) so she was going to remodel the house we were in and move in. So, in essence, we got kicked out. We were given til the first of March to find a new place and move out. We found a new place to live, but the people still living there were trying to finish the house they're building before they got out, so our move-out date got pushed back a week. Still we made it, and with 4 weeks to put together the house until baby girl comes.

Yeah, I packed pretty much all these boxes; and yes, I did it as an 8 mo. woman. (Ok, so S did all the heavy lifting, but I packed them all...) This is the before pic.

And this is the after... my poor empty house!

The Little Ones of February

In February I was asked to watch my 2 nieces every Wednesday while their mother started a new job. I love them to death, but finding something to do with them for 6 hours straight multiple weeks in a row was a painstaking task, since we don't have any kids of our own yet, and therefore not a lot of toys. Thankfully, they were able to make their own fun. Cheap and easy...

Christmas in the Promised Land

We got tickets to the MoTab choir Christmas concert, so my mom came up and S's mom came with us too, and we went and took pictures of the lights at Temple Square beforehand.

After all the hype about melted crayon art, we decided that was something that would entertain most of us for a couple hours, and it sounded fun. It's incredible how much creativity and different ideas come from one family. I'd say all in all we had fun, but you can decide for yourself...

As per tradition, we had to go shooting (even though no one got a new gun this year), and who did we meet, but my uncle and his family, so we traded off shooting each others' guns, and just had a fun ol' time together.

And on the way home I found some picturesque views to take a couple snaps of...
