Island Park or Bust

After much careful consideration, mulling, arguing, more suggestions, and discussion lasting several weeks, it was decided that the yearly Wight family trip to the Tetons, would be held in Island Park this year. On the way up we hit Jackson Hole and swam at Granite Hot Springs, then on through Yellowstone NP and to the cabin the whole family rented for a few nights.

Family Reunion

Even though Spencer and I are now married, I don't know about much of his family history, like my mom does with my dad's, but I'm sure that will come with time. I did, however, have the opportunity to attend one of Spencer's family reunions; the largest family reunion I have ever attended. Throughout the entire 2 day event, around 2,000 people attended. The man the reunion was centered around was       , the architect behind the design of the Mormon Tabernacle. If I could describe what it was like, especially for a family reunion, the word I would use would be 'incredible.' No technology can rival that of the pioneers' ingenuity.

Summer Fun

There were several wonderful things about having the whole summer between the wedding and starting school-- lots of time to work on relationships; relationships with each other and with the rest of Spencer's family. His brother lives a couple blocks down the street, and some of the best times were spent with his family on one of their spontaneous visits.
This particular day the girls and their dad (Mike) rode their bikes over to our house, and Lance (who was at that time training to run in the Ragnar race) ran over and everyone had fun playing in the irrigation canal running down the side of our yard. It's days like that when you remember what life really is all about...
